Sel Roti Recipe:
Ingredients:
- 2 cups rice flour
- 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup sugar
- 1 teaspoon cardamom powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 and 1/2 cups water
- Oil for deep frying
Instructions:
- In a mixing bowl, add rice flour, all-purpose flour, sugar, cardamom powder, baking powder, and salt. Mix well.
- Slowly add water to the mixture and stir until a smooth batter is formed. The batter should be thick enough to pipe through a funnel.
- Heat oil in a deep frying pan.
- Once the oil is hot, pour the batter into a funnel and start piping it into the hot oil. Use a circular motion to create a round shape. Be careful not to overcrowd the pan.
- Fry until the sel roti turns golden brown on both sides. Use a slotted spoon to remove it from the oil and place it on a paper towel to remove excess oil.
- Serve the sel roti warm or at room temperature. It goes well with tea or coffee.
